Happy Anniversary Driftglass and Blue Gal!

Happy anniversary, and thank you for the wonderful podcast, and all of the other wonderful podcasts.
So, history. I'm glad Susan Bro feels that way, because it's important that Heather play a part in what's about to happen.
Charlottesville needs to become the Kent State of our time; the event that became a turning point after which the positions that led up to it became untenable. We will be attacked for "politicizing a tragedy" loud and long, but we will still hold the moral high ground in those arguments because Heather herself would do the same were she not dead, and now her mother isn't having any of the co-option they so immediately started shoveling her way.
Blue Gal is right: it's the pussy hats, not the dude-bros who are gonna win this, and while I've really had my fill of the purity brigade, if you're whining about alienating white working class voters with a progressive platform, kindly go fuck yourself.

If the South was really dedicated to their heritage they would be putting up statues to their real heros, their authors and musicians, rather than all those f*ing generals. But then of course.........

Hope you had a great anniversary.

your "The Republican Party is the Last Confederate Monument" describes it to a tee! A great truth!

If the extreme wealthy republican donors/ owners gave a damn. They would not fund the use of this division enabling of thee hate groups.

There may be some of these GOP owners that go along just for their tax cuts and privileged economic oligarchic control of the rhetorical free market.

Those not in the first assessment are actual NAZI,white supremacist and anti-Semitic. Like the mercer family.

These are the same superior beings of wealth bought a Supreme Court decision. Citizens United. So one rich bastard can not simply speak louder and farther than millions of people. But to drown the speech of millions in a bath tub full of money.
Hello Betsy and her brother.
These two confuse me when it comes to confirming Rick Perry. A bachelors degree from Texas A&M of animal anatomy, Certificate of completion of Bible study from his church and the display of seceding from America as governor of Texas. Confirmed to the Dept of Energy that he spoke out to abolish so often.
No physics, no nuclear energy background but has personal financial investment in oil pipelines.

I figure when a nuke powered power plant goes Fukashima.
Well, repeat after the trained monkeys, ' It is Obama's fault".

I like Doug in Oakland's point,
"Charlottesville needs to become the Kent State of our time;".

There is a lot to say of the arts of kent state day. The music for one.
C,S and N gave us , "Ohio". But not limited too............
